The Jubilee year is a holy year proclaimed by the Pope since 1300, marking a significant milestone for the faith. Since December 24th of 2024, Rome has welcomed millions of pilgrims from around the world.
Some of the major events have already happened, like the opening of the Main gates of the Basilicas in the city, with an unexpected gate opening in the Church of the jail in Rebibbia.
Every month, the Vatican has celebrated different Jubilees for different community groups, like the armed forces, the media, and the firefighters.
The Day of Prayer is a heartfelt call for Catholics worldwide to embrace God’s infinite mercy. Established by Pope Francis, it inspires the faithful to deepen their faith through prayer, reflection, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
This event honors priests named “Missionaries of Mercy.” It begins on Friday, March 28, with training sessions in the Paul VI Audience Hall and the “24 Hours for the Lord” initiative.
On Saturday, March 29, participants can join a pilgrimage to the Holy Door and meet the Pope. The Jubilee concludes on Sunday, March 31, with a morning Mass led by the pontiff and an afternoon “Missa Papae Francisci.”
