The ICONIC hand gesture 🤌

This iconic hand gesture made by Italians is the first thing people do when they try to make an Italian impression, with the fake accent and this gesture you can fake it and everyone will understand what you are talking about.

The vespa

Created in 1964, this scooter is the symbol of Italian romantic life, “The Dolce Vita”. An activity everyone wants to do when they are in the south of Italy with their loved ones. The Vespa is Italian to its core and matches perfectly the essence of its people.

The Moka Express

Created in 1933 by Alfonso Bialetti, was the person who gave the world not only a way to make coffee but a whole morning ritual to start the day. The design and function of the Moka is peoples favorite, if you want to honor the Moka you must then eat it with a sweet or some pastry.

The Jeans

After tracing the roots of the Jeans, it turns out that everything was born in Italy, more precisely in Genoa. Here Sailors wore sturdy blue cotton-linen pants called "blue de Gênes" (Genoa’s blue fabric). Later, this name morphed into "blue jeans"!

American people were the ones who made them popular around 1873, but the name and the fabric used came from Italy.

NYC Subway Map

The iconic New York City Subway map was originally created by Massimo Vignelli 🇮🇹 in 1972 as part of the Unimark design firm's rebranding of the MTA. He solved the map with Helvetica and a grid. Vignelli’s original map is now in the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). His work remains a cult favorite among designers.

Eyeglasses

Invented in Italy around 1825, for the monks that were tired of squinting reading tiny latin texts, the first were made by ground quartz or glass lenses, set in bone/wood/metal frames.

Awesome things created by Italians no? Some of them shocked us while we were searching for all this information. For sure something happened in Italy and the ancient Roman Empire that made all its people so creative, resourceful and talented to create this so beautiful and important.
